Want to publish a romance or women’s fic?
Join The Writers’ Group

Georgia Clark’ Writers’ Group is a nurturing and inspiring online community that provides group mentorship, targeted guidance, and practical support for promising new writers.

This community is designed for pre-published romance and women’s fiction writers whose professional aim is publication, and have self-directed or institutional experience writing. Maybe you’ve taken a writing class or been part of a writing group. Maybe you already have a writing practice, have read a few craft books, have completed a draft, and/or are part of a literary community.

If you want to start, finish, or revise a novel or longer project, the Writers’ Group is for you. (Beginners, head here.)

To apply: send an expression of interest listing your writing experience and goals, and a 500-word writing sample. Applications accepted on a rolling basis.

The Writers’ Group offers:

  1. Editorial feedback from Georgia + your fellow writers. Your thorough notes, delivered verbally and in written summary/in-line notes, will identify what is working, as well as offer critique and actionable suggestions. They are designed to be informative, inspiring, and helpful.

  2. Accountability: Writers will be invited to set monthly, quarterly, and a yearly goal, i.e. completing the first (or final!) draft of a novel. In each session, we’ll check in on your progress and you’ll have time to ask questions about any challenges. This is a place to show up as a writer.

  3. Insight: Each month, I will candidly discuss a craft or industry-focused topic relevant to pre-published writers, such as how to revise or working with an agent. There will be time for discussion.

  4. Special industry guests: Throughout the year, we’ll have intimate Q+As with publishing professionals and published authors.

How it works

The Writers’ Group meets once a month via Zoom. Classes are 6pm - 8pmET.

There will also be a private dedicated Slack channel where writers can chat online in between classes. Georgia will participate in the Slack. Slack is free, easy-to-use messaging platform for business that combines the functionality of email and text.

Group size: The group will be capped at twelve. Depending on class size, 1 - 3 pieces will be workshopped per class. Students will have the chance to workshop twice a year.

Commitment: The Writers’ Group is designed to be a year-long engagement. Members may cancel at the end of each quarter, but commitment to a year-long engagement is encouraged.

Cost: The membership fee is $450 per quarter (payment due every 3 months). Writers can also pay for the year upfront and get one month free—that’s $1,650 upfront, a savings of $150.
Payment is via Venmo, Zelle, or bank transfer.

Over the years, I have taken several writing classes and been involved with multiple writing groups, but nothing has accelerated my results like participation in this community. By aligning with writers who share my genre and goal of publication in the near future, I was able to start and complete the first draft of my romantic comedy within 5 months. It’s been a huge blessing to be surrounded by people in the same trenches and walking the same journey. The group has given me accountability, encouragement and the feedback I needed to step into the life I’ve been working to create for myself as a professional writer and author. I am also especially grateful for Georgia’s guidance and mentorship, as well as her thoughtful edits to and commentary on my work. If you’re looking for a place where you can have the support you need to advance your career as a pre-debut romance novelist, look no further.

I’ve been impressed and motivated by the monthly feedback in Georgia’s Writers Group. Each month we dive into new pieces and discuss what works and what doesn’t. As we get to know each other, the encouragement on our Slack and via workshop has grown. Setting monthly goals has motivated me to get more words on the page!

Becoming part of Georgia Clark’s year-long writer’s group has changed my relationship with writing for the better. She curates an environment where all romance writers are accepted and welcomed. Working with her and this group of writers has allowed me fully step into myself as a writer and finally work on the book of my heart. I recommend this to anyone looking for a writing community that truly helps you flourish.

In extenuating circumstances, Zoom meetings may be rescheduled. Every effort will be made to to ensure all writers can join the rescheduled session. All sessions will be recorded, and one-on-one time organized, for anyone who can’t make a rescheduled time.

Refunds are only offered for students leaving the group permanently, not for students unable to make a Zoom session. Refunds are offered at the end of each quarter, not mid-quarter.
