Romance Workshop
Inspiring, practical, & transformative
📅 Class Dates: May 5, May 12, May 19, and May 27 (Tues)
🕕 Time: 6:00–8:00pm ET on Zoom
Join a fun, supportive, and inspiring workshop led by published romance author Georgia Clark.
Romance novels are rich, emotional stories that explore love, sex, and relationships — often with diverse casts, whip-smart plots, and serious heart. The genre is booming, and editors are actively looking for fresh, original voices.
Whether you're writing a romance novel, weaving a romantic subplot into another genre, or crafting contemporary women's fiction, this virtual class will give you the tools, structure, and feedback you need to move forward with confidence.
The four sessions offer craft lectures and personalized feedback on your work. Writers will have the opportunity to workshop a piece and receive detailed notes.
Perfect for both beginners and writers with a draft in progress.
The Romance Workshop covers:
-
Understand what readers and editors are looking for in today’s market (sexiness! diversity! hope! authenticity!) and how to make your work stand out.
-
We’ll deep dive into the unique romance structure and how to plan the arc of your romance to hit the most impactful emotional notes.
-
Practical and mind-opening advice on how to create and develop compelling and lovable romantic leads, and a useful and entertaining supporting cast.
-
Who tells the story and why? Learn how to make the most effective choice.
-
How to ensure your action delivers a cohesive, memorable story that builds to a strong climax.
-
Focus on a line-level: how to write elegant, evocative prose free of cliche.
-
You’ll get one-on-one time to ask literary agent Natalie Edwards your questions!

Getting feedback from your fellow writers will highlight your story’s strengths, as well as the parts that aren’t yet hitting the mark. Receiving thoughtful and supportive feedback will always strengthen your work and make it even more appealing to agents and editors. Even if you’ve never taken a writing class or workshop before, you’ll benefit from your work being analyzed and explored by a sensitive group of writers working in the same genre as you.
